In my travels, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting the Grand Canyon. It’s a popular destination to be sure for vacationers and photographers alike. It’s such an often photographed place but its also one that’s always changing.
The weather on the day I visited was cold and crisp. In a matter of minutes the majestic view, which was every bit as breathtaking as I’d hoped it would be, was obliterated by a snow squall that turned the gorgeous landscape before me to shades of white. I took these photographs in the moments before the squall and just as it was beginning to roll in.

The way the trees and plants grow from the rocky terrain is a testament to their resilience.
The Edge of the Grand Canyon

I photographed these Elk with a wide angle lens a fair distance away, preferring to give these animals their space and focus primarily on the landscape itself.
